Anchors Away My Love - July Cara Box Reveal

Just got back last night from my fun and busy weekend in Florida. My plan is to post about that later on tonight with all the pictures that it entails.

I got my Cara Box, the day I was to leave for vacation so I opened it up and took all of the pictures and then put it all back in to pack and get ready, so that's why I am just now getting this post up.

This month I got to know two great people. The first was Elizabeth over at Get Busy Living, who I got to send my box of goodies too! I loved putting the box together and my favorite was the tote I made from a Pinspiration. Go check that post out over here!

The other person I got paired with was Cate from Random Crafty Georgia Girl. It was a fun exchange since I sent her a box back in April, it was nice to see what she sent me. I received just the cutest box and she nailed it on the head with everything!

Beach Smelling Candles
Rolos
Tote
Floatie
Adorable Notebook!

I loved everything and her note was so kind about me going back to school to get my Masters.

I love this exchange every time I do it!

Lotto Daydreaming

I'm sitting at Monkey Joes. Thank the Lord it has Internet and I have my laptop. 4 hours of entertainment for the kids and time for me to get lost in blog world and study some more for the GRE, yes please!

Anyways I am linking up with Holly and Kristie for the If I Won the Lotto!

button

I have played the lotto, I do it on occasion, these days I'll just take a good couple mil.

1. If you know me you know the first thing I would do is invest 1 million of that joker in a high interest savings account, so that it can sit and make me even more money! Tithe 10% because if I won it was obviously because Jesus had a hand in it.

1. I would get all necessities out of the way, pay students loans, credit cards, and any other "bills" I have. Buy a house for mom and pay for my sisters college, so they don't have to deal with student loans like I did.

2. I would buy land and get my friend Patrick to help me deign and build our dream cabin that we can rent out and then have to use whenever we want to.

3. I would get over to Germany ASAP to see my bro and sister in law and my niece and nephew and would take my sweet time traveling to see my friends who will be living over there too.

4. I would probably subscribe to every mail subscription box I can get my hands on. I mean who doesn't just love some mail, especially when it's stuff you'll only use 1. But I don't care cause I got tons more where that came from!

5. I would get a personal trainer and personal chef to make the right food for me to eat, so then I can get healthier.

6. I would buy more calories to eat....oh wait, you can't do that? I wish I could so then I could eat Fried Pickles all day every day.

7. I would gather all my friends who lived all over the place and get them together for one big Jenny's Friends Reunion, where you ask? Disney. Duh!

8. I would probably go crazy nuts buying gifts for everyone because I'm the weirdo at Christmas Time who gets more joy out of watching others open THE perfect present I got for them as opposed to my own gifts.

9. Buy a cute cottage, three bedrooms. 1 for me. 1 for my crafts. 1 for all the lovely guests who want to come and see the cottage. Then I would invite all of my friends who live far away from me to come visit.

Yeah I think that's enough for now. I'm not asking for too much ;)

Hi. I'm Jenny

I found this super awesome link up this morning about blogging every day in May and I thought it was brilliant!

Well it is 12:35am on Thursday, technically so now I am going to post for yesterday and will post for today later on!

Here is the prompt for May 1 - The Story of your Life in 250 words or less (I counted and this joker is 247!!!! I just love a good challenge)

Considering I am only 23 my life has been pretty crazy. Let’s see I was born on April 3, 1990 to two wonderful parents. My dad was in the army so you can say that my life was a little crazy.
I was born in Los Angeles, California where we lived for 3 months.
Kansas where we lived for 2 years and had a dog named Kelly, who was black lab, which I don’t remember.
Berlin, Germany for two years and the memory I have the most is when I learned to blow a bubble with my bubble gum before my brother.
Columbus, Georgia my sister Jessi was born here and I brought her to show and tell for Kindergarten.
Phenix City, Alabama my youngest sister who is a surviving twin was born here and my parents built the house we lived in.
Vilseck, Germany this was fun as I loved living in Germany and rode my bike to school every day.
Hohenfels, Germany for middle school where I was popular (or so I thought haha)
Phenix City, Alabama three years of high school in which I was depressed (not my best moments)
Deltona, Florida my senior year of high school and I found some of the best friends I have.
St Augustine, Florida where I attended Flagler College, what what!!
Atlanta, Georgia where I live now and love every moment.
I would like to think this will stop but who knows I get restless very easily.

Go Green!!!

I love love love this idea and had so much fun getting to know two other bloggers. I am definitely a blogger stalker at times and when I find a blog I like or just a new blog I spend a lot of time just reading through all of the posts before I have to move on to something else. I got to know Cate over at Random Crafty Georgia Girl and sent her a box, I had so much fun buying stuff for her, you can read about it over here.

My first ever Cara Box came from Krystal over at My Life of Travels and Adventures and I just about squealed when I opened my mail box and got it! Thank you so much for all of my goodies, I think I told everyone I knew when my box came in. I sent mine very early on just so that I wouldn't forget and am so excited to receive my own box! Who doesn't just love getting mail, I know I do! This month's theme was Go Green and my box was full of green items and I love every single one of them!

Cara Box

She sent me this cute note and shared everything that was in the box.

I opened the box and this is what I saw!

She game me the cutest recipe cards and filled out 4 or 5 of them with different recipes and included all of the health stuff on them and I loved that because I am counting points and calories and everything it was so nice.

I got an adorable pail that I can grow basil in, which is so cool because I love thinking that I have a green thumb and this can help me believe it for the time being. I just need to look up some good recipes that use basil and I will be all set. Another thing, there was this pellet in it and it said to soak it 2/3 cup of water and no lie it was like a pancake when I put it in and then in 5 minutes it soaked up ALL the water and made enough soil for the pail, I so wish I would have video taped it!

Then I got two eye shadows which I love! One is green and one turquoise. I usually only wear natural make up just because that's all I ever buy myself, but I love these two colors. I am actually wearing the green today and because my eyes are green I feel like they really pop out, which is great!

Let's see next was this great green water bottle, since I hike and walk so much this will be perfect, and you can never have too many water bottles in my opinion.

Then I saw these head bands and was soooo grateful. If you haven't noticed in a lot of pictures of me when I am not out with friends I wear these head bands all the time. I probably go through a pack every other month just because I lose them or they lose their elasticity or the dog decides he likes to have them more then me. Any ways I love love love these headbands and wear them just about every day. I even wore one this past week!

Finally I got these FANTASTIC candles from Yankee Candle, I am sure I mentioned in my email to her that I love candles, because I do. You can ask my roommate or any one who comes over to my house, there is usually always a candle burning just because I love the way that they smell up an entire room. Well these candles are no different, I have not burned them yet but plan on doing so this weekend.

For my first Cara Box experience, I am hooked! I loved being able to get to know two different bloggers and sending away one box and getting one in return.

I am so stoked for the May Cara Box, and you should go and sign up and do it too!!!

Let the Games Begin

Today is my 23rd Birthday, AHHHH!!!

I know it doesn't seem like much and it's really not in the grand scheme of things but it's crazy to think that 5 years ago I was turning 18 and getting ready to move to college. Here I sit now with a college degree in hand (not that I am using it haha) living completely self sufficient and loving every moment of every day!

Birthdays are a big deal in my family, my mom and dad always went to extra lengths to make sure we felt celebrated. Streamers were always up, presents out, and birthday breakfast was always made. Those moments are definitely the ones I miss the most not living at home. I have to say though, my roommate Lindsey did fantastic this year! I woke up to pink (my most favorite color!) hanging from my door and hallway and then there were cute pink stars hanging above the kitchen with two presents for me (which I haven't opened yet) sitting on the counter. It's only 6:37 and today has been amazing so far!

I work today but it's only ok because I love my job and my kids beg me to work on my birthday every year so that they can celebrate me. Last year we made tie dye and went to the zoo, so this year we made tie dye again but we are going to go bowling instead of the zoo. I am very excited as the kids get more excited about it then me and that makes me even more excited.

Today I choose not to weigh in or count my calories or points as a birthday gift to myself. I will be back next week, with a loss I am bound and determined to get!

I'm Still Linking Up with Erin @ She's A Big Star and Alex @ Skinny Jean Pilgrimage for Weigh In Wednesday :)

I have tomorrow and Friday off and will post all about my day, and as my sister told me this morning
May the Odds be Ever in My Favor!

Three Things Thursday

I am sure I have already said this before but right now I am all about Link Ups! I love doing them because they give me something to create a new post about but also I usually spend an hour or two clicking around and checking out other people's blog. To me it's amazing how easily connected everyone is in this blogosphere and I love it. So today I am joining Kristyn at Carolina Fireflies and Myranda at Pretty Living  for their Three Things Thursday and today's topic is Three Things People Would Be Surprised to Know About You.

1. I was a blond and extremely tan child.
As a child growing up my brother and I spent a good amount of time playing outside. We would play all sorts of things just the two of us or with all of the neighborhood kids. Then all of a sudden my hair started to turn brown and I stayed tan for a while but not I am just a brunette with normal skin complexion (hopefully changing this summer!!!!).

2. My first job was as a newspaper deliverer in Middle School.
We lived in Germany while my dad was in the army and I was in Middle School when someone asked me if I wanted a paper route for the American newspaper in our little German town. It was my first real job and I was really excited to get to make some money because I really love spending money. (Who doesn't!!!!) I held the job for a year and a half before we had to PCS to the states. I loved it while I had it, even the getting up at 5:00 to do my job part, because I am such an early riser. I bought my very own computer with it and many other things that I probably no longer own.

3. I have never had a drop of alcohol.
I feel like in these days sometimes that makes me seem like such an outsider. Often when I tell people I don't drink they think it's because I had some horrible past as a child or that I got it all out of my system, this is not the case. I just have never been interested in it. Neither of my parents drank except for maybe a handful of times that I can count on my fingers. I wanted to go through college without drinking and succeeded but now see no reason to start. I am sure one day I will attempt some sort of adult beverage but for now I don't really think I am missing out on much.

That's it for today folks :)

First Things First

Since I am new to this whole blogosphere I am doing the best I can to keep with some of the best and I know that Halie over at Penguins, Pasta, and Polka Dots definitely is one of those! I met her in college when she was the co-president of CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ), I eventually took that role from Halie and Emily and loved what they helped to cultivate at Flagler College in St Augustine. She is doing this awesome link up called First Things First.

 1. First Ever Blog Post - My first ever blog post was on January 27, 2011. It was called The Basics of My New Job and was basically a post to keep family and friends updated after recently moving here to Atlanta. Looking back at it now and re-reading it, it's crazy to see how far I have come because these are not just the kids I watch any more. I have been with them for a year and almost three months and this is my family now, and I wouldn't change anything for the world.
2. First Ever Comment on Your Blog - I'm pretty sure my first comment came from my friend Danielle who has a blog called These Things I'll Never Say it was a really sweet comment on my post about Being Honest about my weight and where I am right now and the journey I am partaking on to be healthier, and making better decisions. It was really encouraging.

3. First Ever Blog-Friends or Friends - So I haven't been at this long so I have not really made a "blog-friend" yet but I am sure it will come soon enough. I love meeting new people and usually end up meeting some of my best friends in the most random places. My first ever friend, friend that I can remember and still am in contact with is one of my best friends, Anna who is now married with three kids (crazy!). I met her at church when I was in 1st grade and she was two years older then me. Our families both have 4 children and we did a lot of things together and it wasn't unusual to have 10 people for dinner on a given night. I was blessed enough to be in her wedding back in 2007 and watch as her 3 children grow up. We don't live close but any chance we get, we see each other as often as possible.
