Some Food and Some Clothes

I am linking up with Halie and Hallie today for their re-vamped link up called From First to Last and I am really excited! Make sure you click over and link up with them.

First Things First

First aisle you hit up at the grocery store
I always, always, always go to the far right of the store and work my way over. Like always. Most of the time it's the produce which makes me super happy. When the produce is on the left side it throws me wayyyy off my game and I get a little confused. I frequent the grocery store about 3-5 times a week, mostly because of work and realizing that we have forgotten something from the last run. It's ok I am sure the people at my Publix here know me by name.

First Store you head to in the mall
So for this one it depends on who I am with. If it's the kids then we ALWAYS go to the Disney store first and spend many a time looking at every single toy as they talk about how much they "need" the toy and I explain that if they save their money they can get it.
If I am with my girlfriends we usually hit up the mall only if we are on a mission, I am not a big leisure goer to the mall, it gives me a headache if I am there too long. Thanks to my mom I am not a fan of shopping, I have a mission and I will complete it or be over it soon. But if I am there with my friends it's almost always H&M or Forever 21 whichever one is closer to the door we entered.

Today is Tuesday, which means Weigh In Wednesday is hanging in the balance and I did not hop on the scale to see if I was going to be devastated or thrilled tomorrow, so I just have to wait and see. W has his field day today even though it's gross outside so they are doing it inside. All of the kids are going to be wearing their Tie-dye shirts that I got to go in and make with them and they came out fantastic, all of the parents loved it!

I got back on track somewhat yesterday with exercise and completed week 3 day 2 and ended up going .01 miles farther then day 1 a week or so ago, I'll take that small gain as a win. It was pouring rain as I ran and I loved it, the only thing I was concerned about was my phone (I don't use a case, yes I know it can drop and break at any point, no I don't care about your opinion) but the arm band I used kept it dry enough for me to run. It was a good time and I would so do it again any time.

If you frequent Trader Joe's I need to suggest a product to you, Powerberries. Hands down the best snack I have had in a long time. It's basically every berry that's super good for you, blueberries, acai, cranberries, and the like wrapped in dark chocolate. Mmm sooo good and to me so worth the 5 points for a 1/4 cup. I pack a baggie at the beginning of the day and allow myself to have them throughout the day. (and maybe a few more when I get home at night...) But seriously go get some and let your life be changed for the better.

I went to bed at 10 ish last night, woohoo! First time in over a week, probably going to do the same thing again today just so that I can have the energy to keep walking/running and making better choices. I didn't sleep well though and I think it's because the dog was all over me, usually I close my door but I left it open last night and he wanted to "snuggle" (more like jump on me to open the covers and let him come sleep in between my legs every hour). This morning though he cracked me up as he attempted to eat my toothpaste. What a ham!

First Things First!

Time for another edition of First Things First with Halie @ Penguins, Pasta, and Polka Dots.

First Things First

1. First thing you would do/buy if you won the lottery...The first thing I would do would be pay off all of my student loans so that I don't have to worry about a monthly payment anymore. Definitely so many more things I would rather spend my hard earned money on then to the loan people. Now the first thing I would buy would be this beauty right here.

It sits in North Georgia and is only $300,000 so chump change if I won the lottery and I would just use it as my weekend get away house and invite all my friends to come over. I will own a log cabin one day in the Georgia mountains, it might not be as fancy as this beauty, but it will happen.

2. First Person you call when you get amazing news - Ok so I feel like I have sort of a phone tree that I tap into when I get good news. I usually tell my roomie Lindsey and my friends Kasey and Kirsten since they live up here in Atlanta. Then I call my friends in Florida, Abby and Mallory. Then my sisters and my mom. It's rarely just one person that I call, and it depends on what the good news is about as to who gets the first phone call haha.

3. First thing you do when you've had a bad day - this is where old habits die hard. I usually get in a really really good sob/cry as I lay on the couch or my bed. Then I climb in the car and seek comfort in something from a drive thru window, and once I get home I always put on Grey's Anatomy. I own all the seasons and so I am attempting to watch them all again right now. It's awful I know. It just seems to be the way I cope. I have gotten a lot better though and am now attempting to walk/jog more then going and getting something from a fast food restaurant. Baby steps.

Not going to lie I am dreading Weigh In Wednesday tomorrow, it has been yet again another rough week and it has all been emotion related. I have been feeling off my game and am not sure why, I am praying and hoping that whatever this is passes quickly and I can get back to how I normally feel. I think I need a vacation...good thing I am planning one to hit up St Augustine in a few weeks just for a weekend get away with a friend. It can't come soon enough.

First Things First!

I didn't do this link up last week due to Spring Break and my birthday week being absolutely crazy, but I am back on board this week!!! Click over to Halie's adorable blog and her co-hosts Rachel and Tasha and join us.

First Things First

First Pinterest project or recipe you attempted (failure or success!)
First random song that pops up on your iTunes or Pandora
First product you use in the shower

1. First Pinterest Project - Ok so I have been on Pinterest since when you had to be invited to be on it and there were maybe a handful of people. I was lucky enough to have a ton of crafting friends who raved about it and once I got on I got addicted. So I just spent the last 5 minutes scrolling all the way down to find my first pins and see which one I actually attempted. I finally got down to the bottom and found this Pin for a crayon wreath that I was in LOVE with. I figured instead of spending a TON of money that I could simply make this. While living in the Green House my very gracious roommates let me decorate for each month and I knew I needed to this for September when we all went back to school. I got all of the supplies and sat down with my glue gun and made it work and was very pleased. I looked on my facebook and luckily found 1 picture of my finished project on the door. Sorry for the poor quality it was back in the pre-iphone days for me.

2. First random son that pops up on my Pandora - I would normally do my Itunes, but I am at work and not on my computer so I decided to click open my Pandora and see what first song comes up. Well it's I'll Be Home for Christmas by Michael Buble..... hahaha this made me laugh. I love Christmas music and have a station for it on my Pandora but I guess it has been that long since I have logged on, on a computer. On my phone and Ipad my Mumford and Sons station is what's been happening. Not gonna lie I am definitely letting this song play out and maybe the next few ones...that's not bad, right?? (I mean there is only 260 days till Christmas)

3. First Product I use in the shower - I am quick, quick shower taker. I can be in and out of the shower (sans shaving my legs) in one song on my Ipad, it's a wonder I have an entire play list labeled shower. Anyways as soon as I get in and get my hair wet I use shampoo, what kind of shampoo you ask? It depends on my mood and what I have and how I am doing my hair. Currently there are three different shampoos in my shower and two sitting on my counter. I get tired of them about halfway through and end up purchasing more (especially when I have the money and a coupon). I have Dove (when I plan on blow drying and straightening it), Herbal Essence (orange kind for smoothness and purple for my naturally wavy hair), and an all natural kind from Whole Foods (when I think my hair just needs a break and needs to repair). Then I use a random conditioner as well, right now I have two big things of Tresseme because I got them buy one get one. As my conditioner conditions my hair I use a loofah and my new bath and body works body wash called beautiful day. Then I rinse everything and am done. I use proactive every now and again but don't have major issues with my face.

Tomorrow is Weigh-In Wednesday and I am really excited because even with my gain two weeks ago and not weighing in last week because of my birthday I have been really on track and am hoping I have lost, I mean it is Tear-It Up Tuesday and I just completed 47 minutes on the elliptical, that should count for something right?

These Are the Best Days of My Life

I'm joining Halie over at Penguins, Pasta, and Polka Dots for today's First Things First, along with her co-hosts Veronica @ Passion, Pink, and Pearls and Jess @ Jess is More. This week is all about firsts at college, which probably happens to be the best days of my life. I loved college and now find myself wishing I had not graduated early and jumped into the real world as quickly. Even so, I had a great experience!

First Things First

1. My First Roomies - My first ever roomies were Becky Morrison and Stphanie West, we both went to my high school. I knew Becky from church and when I moved my senior year of high school and had no idea where I was going to school, Becky always talked about Flagler College in St Augustine, FL. I have never heard of it but when I was researching in a book for good schools with Education programs it was one of the top 3 in the state. I visited the school and was blown away by its beauty and decided yes this is the place for me. Once I told Becky she was asked if we could room together and mentioned Stephanie since she knew her from school. Becky and I would end up living all 4 years of college together, though we were and still are pretty much opposites we got along pretty well. Stephanie moved to UCF and I have lost contact with her, we really didn't mesh well but I guess you can't always be friends with everyone. Becky and I met two other girls the first week of college and we all became close friends and ended up living together for the rest of our years after that. The first picture is of Stephanie and the second one is of the 4 of us. (Me on the left, Becky above me, and then Allie and Brittany)

2. First Time Living Away from Home - I am going to take this section to talk about the first house I lived in apart from my parents house. My roomies and I decided taht after our Sopohmore year it would be time for us to moe off campus but we needed to stay down town because two people did not have vehicles. Our search began adn we looked everywhere until one night Allie was talking with a girl who mentioned that she had 3 roommates and they lived in a 4 bedroom house downtown and would be moving out in May after graduation. They needed someone to fill in and we needed a house. So we got our ducks in a row and took all the necessary steps to make it our own. We called it "The Green House" original I know but we loved it! This is the first picture I took of it with my not so fancy phone.

And yes, that is a For Sale sign, it was for sale the entire time we lived there and we could have been kicked out at any time but I prayed and trusted and we lasted 2 whole years. Unfortunately the girls who went in after us only got a few months before the house was foreclosed on and they were forced to move :( We lived in this Green House for 2 years and made some of the best memories in my life. Many things were laughed and cried over, many meals succeeded and failed, and many a people got to come in and experience the wonder that it held. It was really old and had many quirks like the bathroom door not working a lot and our kitchen fridge which leaked and made the floor squirt up this gross water, but all in all it was home and we adored it.

3. First College Dorm Room - We were pretty blessed when it came to our first dorm room. Supposedly the year before us they had crammed four girls in there who complained enough and stated that it should be 3 girls. We got the benefit for that and were so thankful. We were located on Ponce 3rd West which was actually the 4th floor since they went Lobby, 1, 2, 3. When you walked into our room we had a fireplace (cemented in but at one point we put up our own version of a fire) and mantle and all three of our beds and two dressers, when you turned to the left there was a giant doorway that led into a pseudo 2nd room that contained all three desks and closets and the last dresser. We had suite mates who lived next to us (with the biggest walk in closet ever!) whose room we had to walk through to get to our bathroom. 5 girls, 1 bathroom. It worked out better then you would think. The one thing I remember most about the dorm was that it smelled like vanilla, it was decided fragrance and that worked for everyone and anytime I smell it I think of the dorm.

Tomorrow is week 2 of Weigh In Wednesday so today I'm celebrating Tear it up Tuesday and am eating my best and working out as much as my time allows me to.
