My Tuesday Weekend in Review

I was going to post my weekend update yesterday, but instead I posted about my decision to pursue a higher education. You can read about that here! Thank you to everyone who has called or texted or emailed me about my decision to go back to school and the support that every single person has showed. It makes me so excited to know that I am not doing this by myself. I sat down at Barnes and Noble last night and opened up GRE for Dummies and started reading. It definitely gave me some more confidence that I can do this!

So anyways here is my late weekend in review.

I had Friday off, woohoo! So that meant that my weekend started on Thursday when I got done watching my kids swim in a swim meet. I went home to chill for a bit before going over to my friend Kirsten's house. While there I found out something via Facebook that devastated me. At first I was super angry then I got really really upset, and after a few phone calls and my roommate being awesome she showed up with some Mike's Hard Lemonade for the win.
(SIDE NOTE - Last weekend at the Cabin I had my first alcoholic beverage in my life, which was a Mike's Hard Lemonade {yes I am 12} and it was delicious, so now I am more open then I have ever been to alcohol. But no I have not gone out and gone crazy, I just have one with dinner when I know I will be home and going to bed soon, those suckers make me sleepy!)
After talking to her and crying my eyes out I headed over to my friends Kirsten's house to have a sleepover. I ended up falling asleep at like 10 and didn't get up till the next morning at around 9 with the rest of the girls.

We meandered around the house and then decided to go get some lunch at Panera before parting our ways to take care of all sorts of things. While at Panera we talked about the tough thing that happened the night before. We talked about what my next step should be in responding. I sat there and cried (and I think I scared a few of the people sitting around us) but it was a conversation that needed to happen and was so good. I felt so loved and cared for in that moment.

After that I went home and cooked up some chicken and veggies to have to eat throughout the week (which I haven't..) and hung out with the dog. Then I got ready and headed to the movies with my bible study ladies to go see Now You See Me, except the movie theater was cray cray busy. Ain't Nobody Got Time for That. So we decided to see Man of Steel instead at a later time and went to go get dinner on the in-between. As a girl who doesn't follow comics or superhero movies I was rather impressed and did enjoy the movie. It was good for someone who doesn't know anything to go in and understand it all.

I went back to Kirsten's house to sleep over again because we were going to go to the lake on Saturday. Our plan was to leave at 10 but none of us got up until 10:30 haha. So we got ready and packed and ended up at the lake around 1:30. We went to a little park and paid $4 to park and when we got to where we were going to get in there was no one there, SCORE! It was so nice and laid back. We set up our chairs, blew up the floats and ended up out on the lake for 3 hours. Pure bliss. After that we went back only to realize we had all gotten some sun. Some worse then others. My burn lasted a day and I ended up tan the next morning when I woke up.

Kirsten's family had been out of town all week, half at Hilton Head, and the other half on a mission trip to Guatemala. So we all got Mexican and sat down to hear different stories. Towards the end of the night I decided to head home to sleep in my bed.

Sunday came and I went to church to work with Devan, my buddy and then headed straight back home to meet up with three of my friends from the cabin. One of them needed to use our Internet to take a test before heading back down to Florida and asked to stop by, and of course I couldn't say no. They came and we all had lunch together and they got to catch up with my roomie. It was Patrick's birthday too so I made some brownies and got to take some pictures with him before I had to head back down to church. After church the rest of the day was quiet and I attempted to prepare for this week I am in now. The family I nanny for is out of town next week and I am going to dog sit for them, and I am excited.

I have decided to link up again with Jess over at Operation Skinny Jeans for some weekly goals.
Operation Skinny Jeans

 1. Walk at least 30 minutes every day.

2. Drink 64 oz of water a day.

3. Track every single calorie, good or bad.

(As you can tell I got off again so I just need to get back to the basics for this week's goals)

Here is a picture from yesterday after we ran a million errands!!! I just laugh every time, these kids are amazing.

This week we are doing a Space theme, so get ready for the fun that comes with that!

Big Fish!

My weekend started very quietly with a trip over to Kirsten's house where I ate dinner and watched The Davinci Code. Then I fell asleep on the couch. (Story of my life) We were going to go attempt to see the Purge with some people but didn't and that's ok because deep down I am soooo terrified of scary movies. I always have the best intentions in wanting to go see them but I am a chicken. Oh well.

I stayed the night and got up super early on Saturday like I always do, so I headed home because I needed to work on my budget and do a few things. I ended up getting my posts up from the week and launched the tab on my blog called The Summer Nanny Series. Then after getting everything in order I got in contact with Kirsten's sister Megan to go have lunch. We went to Chipotle and then headed to the mall because she needed new jeans. We had a great time and then I headed back to my house to get ready to head to the Aquarium for the evening.

You know Instagram right? Ok good. Well anyways every weekend they do a Weekend Hashtag Project and this past weekends was aquariums. Well my good friend Hunter texted me when he saw them post about it and we decided that we needed to get on down there. I am always game for some aquarium and since I have a pass I can always go. It can get a little expensive though but after some research we found that if you go Monday through Saturday from 6-9pm you can get in for $20, woohoo! So I ended up being there with 4 guys and me. I loved it. I am use to having guy friends and hanging out with just guys, they are so uncomplicated. We took a lot of pictures and I took a lot of pictures of the guys taking a lot of pictures. We spent pretty much the whole 3 hours there and most of it at the Ocean Voyager tank with the Whale Sharks and Manta Rays.

After the aquarium we went to dinner at Johnny Rockets and then called it a night.

Sunday brought Generosity Sunday at my church and I was so excited for what was going to happen in the House. I decided to serve in both morning gatherings and then attend the evening gathering. After the morning gatherings we went to eat at a new place called Eats. It is so hole in the wall it's not even funny, you would pass it if you didn't know what to look for. Boy was it delicious though. I had the Jerk Chicken with black beans and rice and cornbread, how much did I pay for all that food, only 7.25...oh yes just take a look.

After Eats we stopped at Krispy Kreme for some doughnuts for dessert. They happen to be on the same road and on the way back to church. They were super yummy as usual. Probably my last ones for a while though.

Then we headed back and attended the 5pm gathering. It was so amazing that words cannot even describe the way God moved. Go ahead and do yourself a favor and go to PassionCityChurch.com and listen to this past week's message. What made it even better was that Kirsten came as well. I love when all my friends are in the same place.

This Sunday was also my friend Taylor's last Sunday here in Atlanta. He is moving back to Minnesota to work at the church he came from. He is going to be truly missed but I am so excited that he is going to a place where he will be able to grow and be around his fam and friends again. This also means I have a new place to visit, woot woot!! We went to Chilis for dinner and then on the way back to the cars snapped this shot. We will miss you Taylor.

FUN FRIDAY - ZOO Edition!

So of course with our theme being Zoo Animals this week, it was obvious that our trip for Fun Friday would be one to the zoo. I start watching for the Friday weather on Monday and attempt to come up with a back up plan just in case. This nanny always like to be prepared for any situation. Well the forecast said rain, all week and then I woke up on Friday and it said rain but it wasn't suppose to hit until 2 that afternoon. I told the kids we could go up until it rained or choose something else. We decided to "risk it" as the kids called it.

We got there it was a little overcast but no rain so we were excited to start the day!

The last time the Wyatt and I were at the zoo it was packed and not fun because of all the people and school groups that were there. This time there was only one school group and not that many people, we could not have picked a better day. The kids had a blast as we took our time going from animal to animal. Of course making sure that we stopped at every photo opportunity available.

After we got most of the way through the zoo it was time to eat lunch. W swears that the zoo has the best pizza in the world (I don't like it personally) and so that's his favorite part every time we are there. These kids love to eat and snack and eat and snack, all the time.

Then it was off to the petting zoo and the rest of the zoo which is the "fun part". There is a train, carousel, rock wall, and playground so we spent half of our time there. At this point the sun was coming out more and the rain seemed to be no where in sight and we were all very excited!

Side story - There was a goat at the petting zoo who came and I guess got mad at this sheep seen above. Well he hit it a little with his head which sent the sheep stumbling along with my two youngest. It was quite traumatic but I remained calmed and pulled my kiddos out of there, we ended up with only one band aid and one sore (broken in his terms) ankle. All was well in the end.

After the playground we headed to the souvenir shop so they could be something to remind them of our trip.

After that I planned a little side surprise trip for my kids. As most of you know or didn't know which is really sad, yesterday was National Doughnut Day! We don't have a Krispy Kreme close to where they live but there was one only 3 miles from the zoo. Mini Field Trip!!!! I pulled up and the kids were a little confused but excited when I told them why we were there. Luckily we were also there while they were making some doughnuts so that kept the kids very interested for a good 15 minutes. We got our doughnuts and our hats and headed on back up the their house.

Such a great end to the first week of summer. Our theme for next week.......

Growing!!
We will be looking at plants and flowers and I have a few fun things up my sleeves, so please stick around and see what we have in store.
