5 on Friday!

This week has been an up and down week for sure, but alas it is finally Friday which means tonight I can sit at home with the puppy and watch Catching Fire 100 times and not have to worry about sleep.

This weekend I have plans to just hang out and clean the apartment. Linds will be in Florida for a cousins wedding and so it's just me and the pup. I need to clean and get organized because I leave a week from today for Germany....woah. It doesn't get more real every time I say it, I has been 10 years since I have been to Germany the last time I was there was when I moved back to the states at the start of my Freshman year in high school. I cannot wait to get back over there to spend time with my bro and sister in love and all the babies.

Linking up with The Good Life Blog, A. Liz Adventures, Carolina Charm, and Hello! Happiness for 5 on Friday!

1. I babysat my pastor's kids on Tuesday and they are just the cutest. Two little boys full of spunk and energy and I always have such a good time with them. Their youngest, Rohan is a trip, we were watching a show and he grabbed the cover of a DVD and just started to pretend read it, I was dying as he was talking to himself.

2. I love me a good BuzzFeed and one popped up on my Facebook this past week, as I was scrolling through I found one that would totally be Linds and I if she wasn't dating Braden and we visited the bar scene often.

3. We had Bible Study at my friend Allie's house this past week and she lives near Downtown Marietta which is just too cute. Her house reminded me of the college house I lived in. I was dying as I walked around, it had the same door frames, set up, and smell, it made me miss college but was such a good walk down memory lane.

4. After probably 5 months I finally beat level 169 on Candy Crush. Back story on this.... I had already beaten this level but when I switched to my Iphone 5s it took me back like 20 levels so it pissed me off that I had to beat it again. I stopped playing for a few months but finally started playing again, and finally beat it!!!

5. Last but not least! Back in September I started attending a new church plant here in Atlanta called The Square. I was looking for something different and my roommate had been attending for a while. After going for a few weeks I knew this was the place for me. We are meeting in our Pastor's garage for now but have just been blessed with acquiring a property debt free! The only thing we are having to cover are the Renovations. We have already raised a good bit of money but we are looking to raise 75,000 more to be completely funded. You can click on the link http://ministryoutfitters.com/campaigns/the-square-churchcommunity-center-renovation/#updates and see more information. If you feel led to help us out that would be fantastic, we know that God is going to do a fantastic work in our building and going in debt free is going to be such a blessing and allow us to use our resources towards helping the community. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!

Have a great weekend y'all,
Jenny

5 on Friday Olympic Edition!

Last night started one of my most favorite times of every even year! The Olympics!!!! There is just something so patriotic and just plain awesome about the Olympics. I have downloaded my apps and have set my TV to full coverage for the next few days.

I have a twitter but don't use it too much, when it comes to the Olympics though it's one of my favorite places to be. Nothing like a good laugh from what some of these people are tweeting. My roommate and I have also decided to live tweet while watching the Olympics. You can follow her at @lindseydedge and me at @jennylynn4930 and our hashtag is #landjtweettheolympics

Last night was spent watching a lot of the pre-qualifying stuff for figure skating, slope style snowboarding, and the Moguls. Let me just say a few things. 1. I wish I was as cool as the snow boarders. They are so cool from their outfits to their names to their looks.... I'll just leave that there. 2. My knees are still hurting from watching those girls do the moguls going downhill. Just ouch. I pray for their safety every time they go down.

So in honor of that I have decided to share my 5 favorite tweets that I found from last night!

1. Yes.... this is so true. I watched the Super Bowl and was less than enthused, but these Olympic commercials are making cry and clap at the same time!

2. This one was just too funny not to post. I read it to my roommate and we both just cracked up.

3. It's amazing how much we feel like we are experts in the sports when they come on. I am the same way talking terms I have never heard before in my life...true story.

4. This is sooooo true. It should be a timed event, and there should be categories based on size. I am sure I would take the Gold for size "really big".

5. I have seen all the stuff surrounding the conditions there and then watching Bob Costas have that eye infection this was just icing on the cake!

What are your favorite sports in the winter Olympics? Will you be glued to the TV as well?

Happy Friday!

5 on Friday!

I just took a look at my phone to see if anything interesting happened that I didn't post on social media and didn't really find that much. It was just that sort of week.... so let's see how this goes.

Linking up with the ladies from 5 on Friday!

1. On Sunday I had a realization that my weight and health is completely out of control. Read my post from Wednesday here.  Not in a "I hate the way I look" thing because that's never been my problem, but in a "If you don't get your act together your not gonna live that long" thing and that stuck hard. So on Monday I started a new eating better routine. I weighed myself and took some photos and also joined a Diet Bet. I am seeing a lot of these too since I am tracking these days. Can't wait to keep going and see results.

2. On Wednesday I went to Bible Study with my favorite ladies and we started Nehemiah. We rotate houses and this week we were in Atlanta and on my drive down I screen-shot-ed this nastiness that is the 400/285 connector at Sandy Springs. I managed to make it through with no curse words and only with the help of my Relaxation Pandora Playlist.

3. My awesome friend Abby who came back in October to go to the Country Living Fair with me texted me around Christmas to tell me she was getting us tickets to see Demi Levato in concert in February. I love me some Demi. Anyways with such an awesome present I wasnt sure how I was going to top it, so I decided to just add on and got us some swag....Tshirts and bracelets. We will fit in so well!!

4. I decided to go on a walk yesterday and knew it was going to be cold but didn't realize how cold. Well it was 30...not so smart Jenny. I had my headband though to keep my ears warm but after a while it leaves a mark. Jenny -0 Cold Weather Gear - 1.

5. Today is my last day before a whole week off. The nanny fam is going to Beaver Creek, Colorado for their ski trip and this girl gets a whole week of vacation! What are my plans, well they include a lot of lunches and coffee with people I can never do anything with because of said job. Oh and watching movies and knitting at the same time, because that's what I like to do.

Have a great day!!

Welcoming Fall - Weekly Catch Up

I am now about 36 hours away from one of the things I have been most excited about in a long time.

I have decided to host a Welcome Fall Party this year at our tiny apartment to allow all the people who ooh and ahh over my baked goods on Instagram and Facebook to actually try them in person. Making an appearance at the party will be Cinnamon Pumpkin Pull apart Bread, Pumpkin White Chocolate Chip Cookies, Apple Dumplings, and Apple Pie. This is something I hope will be an annual thing and that it gets more grander every year. My roomie Linds and I have many a different friend group and this is the first time we are merging them all to meet and we cannot be more excited.

Anyways this week has been pretty bleh but I'm linking up again.

1. So my dear friend Abby is a Southern Girl, and I love that about her and we can both act southern around each other and love it and not feel ashamed. Hence comes in the Country Living Fair. It is only hosted in three places in the US and one happens to be in Stone Mountain, Georgia which is only 45  minutes from my house. She had mentioned a long time ago wanting to go and while most people forget, not this girl. So I got her and I tickets as a part of her going away present when she left St Augustine for North Carolina to do Seminary. So excited to do this in a few weeks!

2. Can we talk about this crazy head, I have been fighting a cold all week so this kid has been resting with me which includes laying in crazy positions like this. I love him none the less.

3. When we first moved up to Atlanta I got sick when the weather went from cold to warm, well now its going form warm to cold and I find myself sick. It's a pretty predictable pattern and you can ask anyone who has ever lived with me. Anyways I bought this humidifier and vapor machine back in the day and still pull it out to breath in some Vicks when I am not feeling well. Sitting over this thing for 10 minutes does wonders and allows me to breath.

4. As I have been getting prepared for our Welcome Fall Party, I was in Joanns and got some wood and chalkboard paint to work on something to put on all the different plates and then noticed these two blank chalkboards and decided to pick them up and do something with. And I know my apostrophe is in the wrong place on y'all but it's chalk so a little swipe and fix and it's all good.

5. Trying to get ahead of the game when it comes to the fall party I decided to pre-make the Pumpkin White Chocolate Chip Cookie dough to keep in the fridge. I am baking them tonight so that will be one less thing to do tomorrow before the event. Luckily I am not a huge cookie dough fan so this is not a major temptation to me.

Now it's back to organizing and trimming videos of the nanny family. Luckily it doesn't force me to do anything since my cold has now turned into a nasty cough and I sound like I have been smoking my whole life.

Catching Up

The past month has been absolutely crazy. I feel though that this week was normal and mostly because it's leading into my first "normal" weekend in a whole month. I have loved having friends and family from out of town and my amazing cabin weekend, but I am ready to be at home with the dog and my roomie and just do what we normally do on a Saturday.

With that being said while this week was normal it was one that helped me catch up and get to where I am now.

1. My mommy and Aunt passed through Atlanta on their way back to Phoenix over the weekend and I had such a fun time with them. We went and picked apples and watched football and spent a good amount of time together.

2. There were some major break throughs when it came to my relationship with me and my dad, I am so happy where the Lord has brought us. You can read all about that here. It's a long story and tear jerker for sure, but a must read in my opinion.

3. That beautiful iOS 7 came out and I got it as soon as I could on my measly Iphone 4. The funny thing I am only going to have this phone for 2 weeks because my upgrade happens to be on October 1st and I have decided to get the 5s, now the real question is Gold or Silver....

4. My youngest W turned 6 yesterday which is crazy to me because he was only 4 when I started working for them. I made this Lollipop Arrangement for his birthday since he doesn't eat cake, ice cream, brownies, cookies or anything but lollipops and starbursts.

5. Last night I finally rented and got to watch Now You See Me and let me say, I would watch it over and over again, because it was so good. I was truly surprised and I usually guess what's going to happen in movies like these.

I am linking up with Lauren Elizabeth for High 5 for Friday and all the ladies over at 5 on Friday!

My week started on Monday in Florida as I ended my long weekend vacation full of bridal showers, going away parties, and bachelorette parties. I was one busy girl but it was such a great time!

1. This was taking right before we checked out of our condo on Monday, the lovely lady next to me in the front is the bride-to-be. All the rest of us are her bridesmaids! It was a fun weekend hanging out with these ladies and I can't to be with everyone again in December for the wedding.

2. After I left the condo I headed north about 30 minutes to the beloved St Augustine and had to get my fix of Mangos Mangos. I was joined by some friends and had a fabulous lunch and it was delicious as always.

3. This is my super awesome bible study group. I was praying for a long time that God would bring in a group of women to my life to help me grow and just do life with and these ladies are the answer to my prayer. We come from all walks and stages in life and I love them all so much. Wednesdays are the best.

4. I posted this picture for Throwback Thursday yesterday of me in the pumpkin patch last year. Why? Because I am so ready for fall to make it's appearance. I love fall. It is my favorite season to cook in and to decorate and to do crafts about. Who doesn't love some scarves and sweaters and boots?!?

5. For some reason it took me 3 days to write this post here but I finally did get it out there this morning on the bag that I made to put into the Cara box I sent a few weeks ago. Super simple and a fun night project!

This weekend holds nothing too major other then my roomie and I starting a new tradition of inviting someone over for a dinner to get to know them better and just to hang out. More about that to come later.

Have a great weekend!!
